Disciplinary Committee
Ensuring professional ethics and standards in the Nigerian Town Planning profession.
Purpose
The Disciplinary Committee of the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) is established as a quasi-judicial body to maintain the integrity and professional standards of the town planning profession. Its primary purpose is to adjudicate over cases of alleged professional misconduct reported against registered town planners and planning firms across the federation.

Investigation Committee
Investigating complaints and allegations against registered town planners.
Purpose
Responsible for preliminary investigations into complaints and allegations of professional misconduct before referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

Finance and General Purpose Committee
Managing financial affairs and general administration of the Council.
Purpose
Oversees the financial management, budgeting, and general administrative functions of TOPREC.

Membership Committee
Processing and verifying applications for professional registration.
Purpose
Handles the registration and verification of town planners seeking professional certification.

Professional Planning Practice Examination
Developing and administering professional examinations for town planners.
Purpose
Responsible for the development, administration, and evaluation of professional planning practice examinations.

Visitation/Accreditation Committee
Accrediting institutions offering Town Planning programme.
Purpose
Conducts accreditation visits to educational institutions offering Town Planning programme.

Publicity/Publications Committee
Managing public relations and official publications.
Purpose
Handles public relations, media engagement, and official publications of the Council.

Education and Training Committee
Conducting Mandatory Training Programmes, Annual Conferences and Seminars for Town Planners and Allied Professionals.
Purpose
To conduct Mandatory Training Programmes, Annual Conferences and Seminars of Town Planners and Allied professionals to keep them abreast of contemporary planning issues as well as to enhance their capacity building.

Professional Monitoring Committee
Monitoring professional practice and compliance with standards.
Purpose
Monitors professional practice to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Co-opted Members
Incorporating external expertise and stakeholder representation in accordance with CAP T7 LFN 2004.
Purpose
In line with schedule 1, section (3) CAP T7 LFN 2004, where the Council desires to obtain the advice of any person on a particular matter, the Council may co-opt them as a member for such periods as it thinks fit, to provide specialized knowledge and diverse perspectives on specific planning issues.
